Why Your Business Needs Foursquare

I saw this banner pasted to the drive thru window of the Coffee Plantation near my house in Scottsdale. My first thought was it is nice to see a business use and promote a social media tool like Foursquare. I am always amazed at why I do not see more businesses promoting their business through Foursquare and other social media channels. For the most part it is free and very easy to implement. To me it shows that a business is current and relevant.

If you are not taking advantage of social media I can assure you that your competition is. There are a few people out there that actually do get it. What they will be getting is more of your customers unless you are able to get on board and utilize all of these new powerful tools that are available.

If you are a business owner and do not have a fan page get one. It is the easiest way to stay in front of your customers. The best part is that it is free. Save money on your mailers and connect with your customers online.

This is a sample video of that can easily be shared in a status update in Facebook. The goal for the client is to ask their friends on Facebook if they would also post the link to the video in their status updates. The goal is to quickly get the video seen by thousands of people for free in a short amount of time. The cost to create a video is $75 for 30 seconds or less. I actually don’t recommend going over 30 seconds for a promo Facebook video.

I decided to make my own video on this because I could find no good videos that could demonstrate simply how to accomplish this. When you call tmobile they offer no assistance on how to do this. I don’t know if they are stupid or just have poor customer service. They just plain blow. Pardon my French. I hope this will work things out for you and you don’t need to buy one of those expensive tethering applications. I have a blackberry bold 9700.
